Introducing the Femme Sole Signature Collection, a design inspired by the rugged textures and earthy tones of the shoreline. This collection showcases the raw beauty of natural stoneware in various clay bodies. Each vessel is coated with a smooth white glaze, creating a striking contrast with the matte stoneware. Each piece is finished with a textural crawl glaze to emphasize the unique lines and curves of each vessel.

Now available at the Parrish Art Museum, Shou Sugi Ban House, Gansett Lane Home, and Kismet in Rockaway Beach, NY

PROGENITORS

The title PROGENITOR is the idea that we all come from one being, a primogenitor.   Somewhere in between is the realm of my existence in a vast spectrum of time. This is a series of hand built skulls and masks of varying ceramic clay bodies that are Raku finished.  I dream of a living species in a time  that may have existed in the far distant past and how they would evolve in the future. An ancient civilization and the creatures that share the land.   The hand sculpted skulls appear distressed to represent ancient aged bone material, as if excavated.  They are Raku fired in a white crackle glaze so the carbon smoke can absorb and highlight the cracks. This is to emphasize the ancient age of the object.   The masks represent a time in the future, creature-like, humanoid, bearing slight resemblance to the original skulls.  The masks are finished with copper rich metallic glazes and then Raku fired to contrast the skulls’ smokey cracks. The distressed metallic luster lends to the notion of a dystopian world in the future.   Join me on my journey as I discover this ancient species and link their evolution to the findings of the future.  This series made their debut at The Other Art Fair in the Spring of 2023.

Women. Life. Freedom.

Women. Life. Freedom is a series of wheel thrown porcelain vessels that have been Raku fired using my own hair to burn on the surface.  I documented a performative act of cutting my chest length hair and using this hair as the decorative surface design to show my stance of solidarity with the women of Iran.  The video was shared via social media with over 238K views and I had the opportunity to connect with over 600 individuals from all over the world.  It was a body of work created to take up  space, and share my sentiment of support with the people in Iran.

RAKU

“The process is like a sacred ritual, I approach it with thoughtfulness, patience, and respect. Each vessel symbolizes human energy in union with nature’s elements, earth, water, fire and air.”

WORDS OUR ARMOR

Armor is a collection a of vessels and sculpture representing the continued fight for women’s rights.  Words Our Armor III Roe V. Wade is a sculptural project highlighting the SCOTUS decision to over turn Roe V. Wade in June of 2022.

This sculpture is made of white stoneware, and finished with hand painted words from an excerpt of Roe V Wade, a representation of  metaphorical armor.  Words that once protected a woman’s right to privacy.

This sculptural piece is dedicated to all the women decades before me that have fought using their words in song, in protest, in literature, in arguments with their families, their words in art. And for the women that continue to fight, the women in Iran who put their lives at risk, and those who gave their lives protesting for a woman’s right to choose. You inspire me with your strength to do the same.
