I find profound energy in the tactile experience of molding clay. The sensation of my hands immersed in earth, its cold, slippery wet textures, is deeply grounding. Working with clay is an intuitive journey for me, where I explore its diverse textures and inherent plasticity. I navigate the fine balance of environmental factors—moisture, airflow, temperature—that influence the shaping of each form.
My fascination lies in the rhythmic, repetitive nature of creation. Each piece involves large, sweeping gestures of my hands, a staccato rhythm of pinching, a choreography of sorts as I move around the form—approaching, stepping back—a dance of engagement. This process invites viewers to similarly engage, drawn to touch and examine the forms, echoing the gestures I've embedded within them.
